 Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease for which there is no cure, only therapies that make the disease remit. Traditional Chinese medicine is among the most widely used alternatives to treat the disorder, in which oral and topical herbal remedies have been used for centuries.
 The use of Indigo Naturalis has been known for more than 4000 years in traditional Chinese medicine, however  until the year 2004-2005 its efficacy was not clinically demonstrated with 
 a study of the 'Chang Gung Memorial Hospital' and the 'Chang Gung University' in Taoyuan (Taiwan) that is published in the journal 'Archives of Dermatology',  After 12 weeks of treatment, the plaques to which the ointment was applied showed significant improvement in scaling, redness, and hardness when compared to the other plaques
